SUNNYVALE, Calif., Apr 23rd, 2018 – Apurba wins a big data analytics contract to develop an Natural Language Processing based solution to unlock the power of a Clinical Semantic Network. This is a network of 2 million clinical ‘concepts’ verified by Subject Mater Experts (SMEs), with over 100 million relationships that connect to these concepts. For example, the network could connect diseases to symptoms to treatment to pharmaceuticals to complications, establishing logical interrelations between them all. Apurba is using machine learning techniques to mine and map unstructured medical texts to automatically extract clinical concepts using the power of NLP and add to the existing network that was built exclusively from structured data.
